In short

This site sets no cookies, loads nothing from third-party servers, and stores no IP addresses. There is no analytics, no tracking, and nothing is shared with anyone. What follows is the same statement at length.

Controller

Stefan Keller, reachable at earl@earl.ee.

What happens when you visit

For a server to answer at all, it has to know the requester's IP address — that is technically unavoidable and true of every website. On earl.ee that address is used only for the duration of the request and not retained afterwards: the web server runs without an access log, and the services behind it record only the hostname that was requested — no address, no identifier, nothing traceable to a person.

The browser's language preference (the “Accept-Language” header) is also read, to decide whether to serve the German or the English version. It too is used for that single decision and not stored.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in being able to deliver the page you asked for.

Where the site runs

The servers are hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany. Hetzner acts as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR and may keep its own logs at the network level, over which we have no control. The data does not leave the EU.

If you write to us

An email to earl@earl.ee arrives on our own mail server — it passes through no third-party service. Your address and the content are used to answer you, and kept as long as the matter is unresolved. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR.

What isn't here

No cookies. No JavaScript. No fonts, scripts or images from other servers — the entire page arrives in a single response, so no connection to a third party is made that could observe who is reading it. No analytics, no ad networks, no profiling, and no automated decision-making.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). In practice this concerns only an email you have sent us — beyond that, no data exists here that could be attributed to you.

You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).

Changes

This statement describes the state as of the date above. If what the platform processes changes, this text changes with it — it is part of the site's source code and is published together with it.
